Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise December 24, 2012, 06:12:48 PM I went to work this morning to work on a car for a few hours while the wife was at her work. My boss arrived to empty his P/U into the dumpster. Well he came into the shop and gave me a Christmas card, I didn't open it up right then. We BS'd for a bit and he left. When my wife was finished at her job she came over and I then opened the card up. Well, besides the card, there was a note that said "Here's a little extra for the holidays , also what you owed for paint and materials for your car are PAID IN FULL and your new SATA Jet 4000B that you ordered thru the shop. Thanks for everything you do" the extra ($250 cash) paint/materials ($650 @our cost) spray gun ($525) grand total $1425 We were at a complete loss for words. It was very humbling. Quote Selected

Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise Reply #3 – December 24, 2012, 06:46:00 PM Right on. I got a little bonus too, but mine was 100 bucks. I bought a couple boxes of .40 hollow points, and got the kids some more stocking stuffers :) Quote Selected

Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise Reply #8 – December 25, 2012, 01:39:23 AM i always do that kinda stuff ended with "thanks for all that you do". Thats the important part, to make sure that someone who works hard or takes the time to do a good job knows they are appreciated, even if it does require them to tell me to buzz off once in a while so they "can do" a quality job.thats really nice of him! Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise Reply #9 – December 25, 2012, 03:09:51 AM 1badbird, is the Sata Jet worth getting for someone who paints only maybe once a year? I would love to see what its like to paint with a quality gun. My bird and my girls Maxima were both painted with a husky gun from home depot. It seemed to me that the spray pattern was to small and the volume was inconsistent, but its also the only thing I've used so I don't really have anything to compare it to. Quote Selected
Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise Reply #10 – December 25, 2012, 12:03:27 PM Bryan163, at a regular price of close to $700 (mine was on sale @ $525), No, I wouldn't get one for a once a year use. Devillbiss has a line they call "FinishLine" the "FLG-4" is their new model and I'm told it's a very good gun. Granted not as nice as an Iwata or SATA but does have a nice large, "soft" spray pattern for around $200. I'd recommend this one for occasional use. Get a 1.3 tip on whatever you get. Ya, a lot of cheaper guns have a small spray pattern. As the name says, "HVLP" they do require up to 15CFM of air. I'd have to look on my gun's spec sheet but I believe it uses 14 CFM. So if your using a smaller compressor, you won't get a consistant flow or spray pattern. Quote Selected
Very Pleasant Christmas Eve Surprise Reply #11 – December 25, 2012, 02:41:42 PM You've got a cool boss, I wish more people were like that. My boss celebrated the holidays by laying off 6 guys at work(that's half the team!), including my best friend :( Quote Selected
