lowest tbird?

whats the lowest anyones seen a fox tbird that was static dropped? curious to see what the 85 would look like layed out

I haven't seen any that were super low, but some of the guys like Gumby and Fordguy here on the forums keep them fairly low for autocross. I have mine as low as I can before it starts to be bad for suspension geometry. I think if you go much lower you need to think about raising control arm mounting points. I'm lowered about 4 inches and it still doesnt look low to me.

I think my fender height is 25 1/8".  I've also changed geometries on the front and rear suspensions along with a torque arm/panhard bar combo

Can you post a link to the thread(s) with your suspension mods? My setup has been working great for me, but I can't help but wonder how it would be with a panhard or even a watts link.

interesting, i figured the biggest issue would be having a bad pinion angle or having the differential housing hit the body, im trying to go as low as possible without cutting the car with as close of wheel fitment as possible, just to turn some heads, ive got a motor build planned but im tired of boat suspension lol, and ive also been curious to see how much improvement the panhard bar makes

If you do just the panhard bar, you will have to take one of your upper trailing arms out so it wont bind.  There is actually quite a bit of room above the axle to move up, but there isn't a whole lot in the wheel wells.  There was another guy on here that had his slammed alot farther than me, but dont remember his name.  He has steelies with trim rings and I think they were 14's too.  I'll see what I can find.

i like that, i was actually looking at using 14 inch diamond racing steelies if i went that low, 14x8 up front and 14x9 out back with some lower profile tires, still want some meat under the rear end, i was mainly worried about the tank sing because of these cars insane rear overhang, and im assuming that i should go up a swaybar size if i were to make good use of that panhard bar right?

There used to be a guy here from Illinois that had a really low Cougar, not sure if he's still about, I haven't seen any posts from him in a coupla years. his s/n is/was "slamedcat".

I would wait till you actually do it and see how it works.  Both cars I've autox'd I've taken the rear bar off completely.  My burgundy car was pretty much stock suspension with poly bushings and strange shocks/struts and bigger front bar.  With what I do, having the rear tires planted on the ground is even more important than keeping the fronts on the ground, lol.  You can't put power down if one rear tire is in the air.

good to know, im just not sure what i want to do with this thing anymore, i dont know if i should drive it into the ground because it has some rust and big dents in the quarter or do somethin wild with it

look up poor mans 3 link(pm3l) on the corral and see what people are doing there.  Thats what taking the single upper arm makes it, lol.  Its going to need some strengthening of the upper chassis mount though.
