85 Xr7 Ebay....definitively '80s.

Such a simple squiggly stripe down the side...but with 20k miles, that had to have been done "back in the day". I feel like the car would be a standout at a car show 10 or 20 years from now.

"Turbocoupe" no surprise as to what's under the hood of that...Cougar XR7...what would someone expect as they walked up to the open hood? Not that single valve cover!
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

Agreed, loose the dated graphics, along with the shift .

No, the earlier XR-7's had chrome/argent grilles and headlamp bezels (same as GS & LS) so those have been painted. The beltline trim and lower appear to have been painted as well because the chrome strip in the beltline mouldings is now black and the three stripes along the bottom should be gray and not black.
Other than the "clutter" I'm not seeing what you are in the trunk though??

I think he's talking about that big cat head emblem on top of the spare tire.  Not part of the car as far as I know....

Ahh, see it now, I had to crank up the contrast on my monitor.  Not sure what that is from, but yeah, it not a factory '85 piece.

I wish my trunk liner was in the same condition as this one!

That was for sale several years ago.  Can't remember if it was ebay or some other site though.

That stripe makes it a chick car.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

As clean as that car is, I'd replace the shift  and cruise with that stripe. :D

I'd have to loose the miami vice graphics and the flintstones shift , but the rest of the car sure looks clean.

It was on craigslist last year.  I think he was asking $7-8k for it.

You missed a lot of fun man.
This car is right out of that era, no question.
I would also change the shift  though.

Yeah I don't understand *that* at all. Is it a shifter or wine bottle? LOL
