Can you say 'rare'.

From the link in the previous post.

According to several sources I have read, production of the LTD LX was limited to 3260 units between mid '84 and '85, making them a rare find! And considering I've personally seen just as many LTD LXs in the junkyard as on the road, I wouldn't be surprised if less than half of them are still on the road.

I bought one of those from a junkyard probably 15 years ago. They even gave me a clear title (somehow...). It was too rusty to save though, and I parted it out. It had a strong engine though. I put a new oil pump, water pump, timing chain and all gaskets and tossed it into an 87 XR-7 I had the time. That thing ran great.

I have had two 85 marquis' though (3.8L). They are nice comfortable rides.

I would rather have the Mercury version.

All the more shameful a Fox Tbird/Cougar never got a factory HO engine option.

I was just thinking that same thing, with all this talk about LTD LX's lately.

Certainly seems Ford missed the mark on this one.

But then again that would have made more variations and more special parts that no one makes.

Nah. A 5.0 HO Bird or Cougar would have the same parts as a regular 5.0 car but with the same engine a Mark VII or Mustang had. It would have needed no extra new or different parts.

$7600  maybe if the car only had 182 miles on it....not 182k....Keep dreaming California guy.

Its a super nice car, but seriously...This is a $2000 car...maybe $2500 if there was no problems....Geez.

When I was a kid, my grandma would pick me up from the prinls office in a white 85 LTD LX.  I loved that car, my Uncle picked it out for here.  He and Pops jokingly called it "the Four Door Stang".
