I got springs!!

Freebee's too!!  They are from a '98 Cobra.  ASA I get my hands on a coil spring compressor I'll have them in with exact before and after height measurements.....and of course pics!
1988 T-Bird Sport Coupe--5.0 HO, MAF swap, 1-5/8" shorties, BBK/Flowmaster exhaust, Explorer intake, 70mm Edelbrock TB, T5, B&M short throw, Centerforce clutch and PP, disc brake TC rear w/ 3.55's, TC front brakes, '98 Cobra springs, DIY SFC's, other misc .  14.05 @ 98mph with launching too low and shifting too high.

If you have the tags with the 3-letter codes on them, I have the rate/load info around someplace.

PPP rear and CCC front.

@ Chuck: I thought there was at one time a spring rate chart in pdf format that was posted here?

I googled one up a couple months ago, saved it on disc. I can dig it up if you want?

EDIT: I found it.

Dan B., the rates for a '96-'98 Cobra springs are (front) 400-505 and (rear) 165-265.
Oddly enough, I can't find the rates for '97 GT springs..

Those numbers are close enough for the spring rates.  I have the factory paperwork on the springs.  There were 4 different sets of springs for the V8 cars.  All with the same spring rate, but with different load ratings.

The rears are more the concern with these cars.

The load rating for the PPP springs is 731#.  Looking back at the notes, this is the same load rating as the old FMS "D"-kits rear springs for the 83-86 TBirds.  They had a linear spring rate of 195# vs the variable one for the Cobra.  As reference, the stock rear springs in my '84 XR-7 were a 190# rate with a 944# load rating.  If you compare that, you're looking at 400# less load rating capacity with the PPP's (or the old D-kits).

That being said, I have used the PPP's before, and I think I currently have some RRR's in the '83 now (which have 50# more load rating than the PPP). 

Load rating =/= spring rate.

I can't give you much info on comparing the fronts, because I've never bothered to use the stock springs, seeing as the C-Kit front do what I want to do, and are much less hassle to install (no spring comp needed).
The load rating on those CCC's is 1960#, which is 200-300# higher than the C or D Kit fronts.  I don't have any info from the stock front springs.  You *may* wind up having to cut those front springs down a bit to get the ride height correct.
