Tires June 01, 2012, 09:09:12 PM So since this section is called "The parts that put the power to the ground" what tires do you guys run for a daily driver. I was looking for some new meat for my turbines and was looking at BF Goodrich Radial T/a has anyone ran these? Looking at throwing 215 on the front and 235 on the rear. Thanks Quote Selected
Tires Reply #1 – June 01, 2012, 11:36:14 PM i had Radial T/A's on my Torino and they were really great on fair weather days, not so great on wet pavement....... Quote Selected
Tires Reply #2 – June 02, 2012, 02:38:31 AM Does anyone here have experience with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s? I'm debating between them and the BF Goodrich Radial T/As. Quote Selected
Tires Reply #3 – June 03, 2012, 02:25:16 AM BFG T/A's are as stated above suck in the rain. I'm going with stock size Nexen N5000 or the Cooper CS4's when I can afford to through $400 at tires. I think I'm leaning a little bit towards the Coopers right now. Quote Selected
Tires Reply #4 – June 03, 2012, 04:01:37 AM Yeah i was looking at the Coopers too but but the ones with the white lettering are like 120/ each and the Bfg's i found for 79/each Quote Selected
Tires Reply #5 – June 03, 2012, 05:02:53 AM Hmmmmm I just found some indy 500's and people say that they are better than the t/a's only problem is can i run a 215/65/15 tire on turbines? Quote Selected
Tires Reply #6 – June 03, 2012, 07:57:03 AM I had 235-60-15's and 245-60-15's on my old turbines. :) Quote Selected
Tires Reply #7 – June 03, 2012, 04:05:46 PM If you'll drive on nothing but dry, then I'd go with the BF G's. As stated, they blow a monkey's left nipple in rain, snow, mud, banana peels, dog turds, wet grass, and vomit.Personal experience, well, with the exception of banana peels. S'truth. Quote Selected

Tires Reply #9 – June 03, 2012, 08:12:31 PM Yeah the whole has no traction on wet ground is what is driving me away from the BFG's. I'm a new driver and my tbird still has what I think are the original Cooper white walls and holy balls do they fish tail my car on some wet pavement. Quote Selected

We don't get much rain here though Quote Selected
Tires Reply #11 – June 04, 2012, 01:30:28 AM How long have you had your falkens? I got some put on a couple years ago, they didn't last half of the mileage warrany. Bald in less than a year. This is actually one of them....... Quote Selected

Tires Reply #13 – June 04, 2012, 11:42:13 AM It only took one good one to get it to come apart like that. The rest of the balding is just from everyday rolling. Here is what that tire looked like when I finally pulled it off the car: Quote Selected
Tires Reply #14 – June 04, 2012, 12:31:04 PM What did the other rear tire look like. That one looks like it fell victim to the "one wheel peel". Quote Selected
