It pertains to my job. I may be getting a huge promotion. I've been asked to step up to backup supervisor, and I've put in for it. Now...it's in the hands of management. :)

Bad part is, it has me going from second shift to third. Definite pay increase, as well as being taught/learning a lot more about the machines.
I'll post more after I've had my second interview..should be either today or tomorrow. :)

Thanks! I blew it.

Just kiddin'! Next Monday, I start off the week on third...midnight to 8 am. Guess I always did want to be a zombie...lol

I've gotta have a chat with my co-workers on second shift....they seem to think I've got a beef with 'em for wanting to leave. Ain't so. :(

It'll work itself out though. Can't sweat the little stuff.

Congrats! Hopefully night shift will be good to you. I worked it for a couple years and I hope I never have to again. It's just not for me, I never felt good when I worked that shift. But for other people it's thier shift of choice. Good luck I hope it works out for you.

I worked third shift once before (same place, even) but this was in 2003-04....Most of the people on that shift then are still there.

I'm hoping I can have better family time AND time to do stuff around the house.

Here's a little update:

Tomorrow is the end of my third week as Production Tech, and last night I was acting supervisor. Good stuff. I've learned a lot, but what has yet to be learned is near to overwhelming.

And that's just the mechanical aspect. There's paperwork to be responsible for, as well as crewing and whatnot.
We're also getting a new blow molding machine (Bespooge H155, about a million and change, ready to run) so there's a whole new thing for us all to learn as well.

Pretty nice little bump in the wallet too. Everything has been smooth, so far. As long as I can stay uninjured and sane, we'll be golden. For what it's worth, the supervisor is an old and close friend of my aunt and my mom, the three of them were actually in school together, but I didn't get any favors pulled for me in getting this job. In fact, I bid on it once before about a 8 months ago, but someone else beat me out for it...then he just pointed out. Weird.

I've also been getting a good bit of sleep, even though I want to stay up till 3 or 4 in the afternoon and play with the kids, or the cars, or do stuff outside, but as long as I'm in bed by 2 and up again at 9:30 or 10 it's all good.

Just thought I'd update (as if anyone really cares) bwahahaha
