Explorer Upper Intake Question March 16, 2012, 11:37:45 AM What is the diameter of the bore in an Explorer upper intake? Is it 65mm, or 70mm? I thought it was 70mm, but wasn't sure. Quote Selected
Explorer Upper Intake Question Reply #1 – March 16, 2012, 11:48:34 AM Should be 70mm. I've seen a few china ones vary somewhat. Quote Selected
Explorer Upper Intake Question Reply #2 – March 16, 2012, 11:51:27 AM Thanks Kitz. I've already got a 70mm EGR spacer. I plan to buy a 70mm Accufab TB this summer. That should work well. Quote Selected

Explorer Upper Intake Question Reply #6 – March 16, 2012, 12:10:40 PM Didn't they COME with 65mm TB's? What the hell!! I guess I never really looked that close Not that you're gonna lose 20 horsepower from that little decrease in the opening lol Quote Selected
Explorer Upper Intake Question Reply #7 – March 16, 2012, 01:48:12 PM Yep. You're right. Explorer came with 65mm TB's. Depending on your combo, worthwhile gains can be had by upsizing to a 70mm TB and spacer. I ultimately want to use 24lb injectors. Since I was planning on buying an aftermarket MAF (like a C&L), I'll get a larger one that's calibrated for the 24lb injectors. Quote Selected
