Lol...in all honesty, the only person I got to see from the club up there was Nate...the night Irene hit.  The 'Bird is long gone...I like to think it got recycled and is a part of a '13 GT-500 now.  When did you get those mustang wheels?  I have that type on my '85 C.V. LTD, but they're the painted version...not the nifty machined finish.

I always read that manually shifting an AOD was death to them.....except holding the car in drive.  Which you would never need OD at the track????

none of the AOD's i've owned cared what you did with the shifter.. you could put it in first and leave it there and they would still shift all the way up to OD.. but i have seen/heard of AOD's murdering themselves when being shifted manually.. apparently it starts with 2nd gear.. a shift kit or valve body can fix that problem, at least by my experience with customers and their AOD's

Then you have never had a stock aod...

Some police interceptor crown vic tranny's have a "shift kit" that let's it go to second and hold it there.

I do the 1-2-1 shuffle just about everytime I get into the wagon. I also throw it into 1st almost everytime I slow down or come to a light.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

mine were all bone stock, converter and all.. apparently it's a common VB issue.. i never put a single red cent into them, because i've always been anti-AOD
