k member question

HI, i am new to the site i own an 88 thunderbird(will post pics when i get some) but anways i was told tubular k mebers for fox bodys wont work in these cars:( is this true? over the winter i plan on puttin one in an puttin a BBF or SBF on nitrous to run a local X275 class(drag car only). i appreciate any tips or info given thanks alot

welcome! and your source is wrong, a mustang k member does fit a fox bird.. i have a QA1 k member in 1 of my birds, with mustang tubular a-arms

i looked at racecraft as well.. nice stuff, but i came across my QA1 on a local forum, NIB for half the price.. i know 2 or 3 people that have used racecraft's parts and they speak highly of them

Yes, they'll work, but they're not an 100% direct bolt in. 

There's a 3/8"-5/8" difference in the frame height mountings between the Mustangs and Tbirds (with the TBirds being taller) that will require some spacers. 

A search of "K-member" will yield several threads on the subject.

Any welding shop should have some 3/8" flat stock laying around. I got mine for free.

a drill bit and 2 pieces of 3/8 plate will do the job
