Nose Swap

Hey what would it take to swap on a 4 eyed frontend on my 87 TC?

Is it a bolt on?
What years can I use?
Do i have to swap the core? (god I hope not)

here we go again lol.. the 4 eyed header will bolt right up to your 87-88 front clip. the bumper impact molding won't line up directly with the impact molding on the rest of the car.. that's an easy fix though lol

Can I use just the header and keep my bumper?

I think you can, but I have not tried it. Your headlights will need wired differently. I know I have seen people use 87-88 thundebird bumpers with cougar headers, so I think it should swap, but not 100%. The 83-86 cars have the turn signal in the bumper, and the bumper is metal.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Be honest, what was the thing that drove you to consider this?

I thought about it for headlights that don't suck and everytime I see a pic of 1badstang's bird at the top of the page.

i used to be partial to the non-tc aero header and lights, but the 4 eyed clips have grown on me tremendously.. i'm not sure about the whole bumper thing, but it may be possible.. if i find a 4 eyed clip soon, i'll let you know.. i plan on doing it to 1 of my cars (probably the new 1)

I think I've mentioned it before but I'm partial to the 87-88 noses. I like how they're rounded yet come to a point like an actual birds head. I like the older 4 eyed Birds and Cats, I had an 85 and almost bought another recently.
