Boxy Bird October 08, 2011, 02:39:57 AM A little back story... This is my second 1980 T-Bird, it's completely identical to my first car right down to the colors and few options (still have the first one btw). I paid $80 dollars for this car at an auction sale to use as a parts car for my first, but this one was in much better shape. It sat in the guys trees since '91, but i put a new battery and fresh gas in it, removed the exhaust pipe that was full of mouse nests, and used it as a dd for 2 years(never had a carb car start so nicely as this one did) 52,XXX miles on it original (previous owner bought it new) I will try to get a better pic up of its current state. It is pretty well gutted right now and the goal is an obnoxious, barely streetable terror of a Sunday driver:burnout:. Quote Selected

Boxy Bird Reply #2 – October 08, 2011, 09:22:45 AM I had 2 of the '80 XR-7's. I'd link my threads on them, but I need to re-upload all the pics that got lost when my old web host went belly up and vanished w/o a trace. I'd have another, but my issue is space right now. You'll see my first one (white/red) roll through the banner at the top once and a while. Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #3 – October 08, 2011, 10:12:05 AM I liked the Box Birds the more I saw them. It's good to see someone working on one! Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #4 – October 10, 2011, 11:08:24 PM OK. So, if you're interested I have reloaded ALL the pics into the (34page) thread on the white XR-7. You can find it HERE. Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #5 – October 16, 2011, 10:43:51 AM Thanks for the thread Chuck W. It's so nice to see someone else having an interest in these cars, most everyone that sees it where I live thinks it's a Monte Carlo Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #6 – October 16, 2011, 07:46:59 PM I actually had another one after that...but I didn't get as involved with the chassis/suspension stuff on that one. I sold it as well... (To the same person as the first!). Just too much going on, and not enough time or space at the moment.I still hanker for one, and may get back to one someday. Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #7 – October 23, 2011, 01:55:57 AM Some folks don't like those early 80's models and say they're really Fairmonts.Well I liked the Fairmont, and I like those early 80's Birds. Quote Selected
Boxy Bird Reply #8 – October 23, 2011, 07:03:40 AM I don't know what it is about them, but they always look so agressive and racey to me. I always loved them, had an '80 for awhile, also make a pretty mean looking Nascar stocker!! Quote Selected
