My new project: 1988 5.0L Thunderbird September 29, 2011, 10:07:47 AM So I finally got back in the Tbirds and cats again after driving a stang for spring and summer. This is the beast as I got it:it already had 1 5/8" BBK headers and mustang H-pipe and 2.5" flowmasters wwhen I bought it, plus a K&N panel filter. so it took me about an hour of it sitting in my driveway to decide where I will take this car.blacked out the grill for now (going to aquire a TC header panel and hood today hopefully)then bought these to complement the lers and make it Emmisions testable so I can put it on the road:ordered a set of new GT40X aluminium heads with 1.94 intake valves from Summit racing the other day. (they should fit the stock SO 302 right?) if not I will swap in a built HO. I guess.also I have this waiting to go on after the HO conversion/swap: a Brand new Vortech V3 5-6psi Kitwith this to support it:a BBK adjustable FPR, SCT BA2600 MAS, 39lb injectors, and the adapters for both.also got a chip for an A9L comp:stay tuned.... My new project: 1988 5.0L Thunderbird Reply #4 – September 29, 2011, 02:07:08 PM Looks like a great car. Are you going to lengthen the tailpipes or just use them where they terminate? Quote Selected

That looks just like the kitten I found 5 months ago. She would do the same thing. She tried to make a home out of the floor mats I recently bought for the T-bird.Looks like a nice, soild project. You're not winter driving that thing right? The power of the Fox Thundercats keep pulling you back in don't they? Quote Selected

My new project: 1988 5.0L Thunderbird Reply #9 – September 29, 2011, 07:20:53 PM I thought about them but for some reason I thought you needed valve reliefs for them. unfortunately it is too late, my order is placed.thanks for the comments guy, yes it has always been a Canadian car, that has only been subjected to two winters when it was new.and yes I will be lengthening the pipes. was installing them today but the way they tucked the lers way up, you cant get a tail pipe on it, so I need some new flowtubes tomorrow. I thought those flowtubes looked alot more bent than mine. I thought about just running my tailpipes like yours without lengthening. Quote Selected

Bad idea. for one it wil look like , and two it lets the exhaust get trapped under the car and possibly seep into the cabin.Quote from: bryan163Looks great. looks like there's a lip on front bumper i haven't seen before. yeah there is a body kit on front and back but nothing on the sides. so I picked up a set of side skirts from a '91 Mustang GT with the mounting clips, that I am going to modify to fit.
