Here we go again...in a predicament...

I just acquired a brand new Ford Motorsport Cobra intake. It has a new spacer and plenum bolt kit, new top plate, and is new (upper and lower).

NOW, for the dilemma.....I am thinking about installing it on the Sport and selling the Trick Flow piece that is on the Sport now, or, do I sell the Cobra and Keep the Trick Flow intake?

I really haven't had the Trick Flow Street Heat on but for a few short months, but I'm thinking, Maybe I can "go Cobra" and give it a try. Really not sure what I want to do. Swapping the intakes is really no big deal (I do have a lot of practice with them). If I sell the Street heat, it'll go with the 70mm t-body and spacer as well, as well as the upper to lower plenum spacer and bolt kit.

I also have been thinking about de-blinging a little under the hood. This would be a good start.

Honestly, Ive never been a fan of the trick flow intakes.  I just dont like the way they look.  I would definately go Cobra over it.

I will trade you a Exploder gt40 for the cobra :shakeass::shakeass:

Here's mine....

I'm thinking about selling it and installing the Cobra. As I stated, I think I am going to de-bling a little, and I have a picture in my head as to what I am going for.

As far as trading for an Explorer intake......Negative. I have one in the garage waiting for a smooth and polish.

I've always hated the look of the TF but I'm willing to bet it outflows the cobra intake regardless if its a china made or usa made unit. Also, it's somewhat custom so it has that going for it as well as it's on the car already. Don't know what you would get for it vs. the cobra intake either.

The only intake you would find on my car if i were to do another 5.0 would be the GT40 tube intake despite not being the best contender performance wise but that's just mho.

Well, the TF piece is over $500.00 from Summit (from what I looked up in about 60 seconds). Mine will come with t-body, spacer, plenum spacer, fresh re-polish on the upper. I think I can get $475.00 for the whole setup. We'll see what happens. I still have some thinking to do. I am leaning towards the Cobra........

The TF just doesnt look "right" to me.  Too much flat surface area or something.  I still say do the Cobra.  Maybe make a custom piece instead of the Cobra plenum cover, like a thunderbird logo or script or something.  That would really set it off

I don't like the way the TF looks... I would put the cobra on if it was up to me.....but paint it body color to match the car

Body color would be great if it wasn't for the Blue block and heads. I've thought about a custom plate, but not sure where I'd have one made or who even does that. I could easily cut the aluminum plate, but having it etched correctly. I have drawings from some time ago with ideas for a Cobra intake plate. I may leave it blank until I seek out info on that. It won't hurt to shelve the new Cobra plate until I decide.

I think I have decided to "Go Cobra"...... Hey, that may be my new catch phrase...."Go Cobra !!!"...I can just hear a little puppiesanese kid saying that.

any machine shop should be able to handle something like that.. might be bit costly, unless you throw in an order for a few of them.. i'm sure some other guys on here would c00ch them up pretty quick

Let's see the Cobra intake you bought. I like the Trick Flow, but it's shaved and could use a Ford or Thunderbird logo on it.
