Decided to pimp the 300 up a bit (WARNING: CONTAINS MOPAR)

It all started innocently enough: My 300's right side headlight was full of water and the reflector was all tarnished black. Made the car look like :
X

I priced up a stock headlight and it was stupd expensive. I decided that instead of spending the money on a stock light I'd upgrade the looks of the car. The only big decision was whether to go with chrome or black. Since the windows are tinted black I decided to go that way, and also figured black would make the car look more sporty and less "old man". I went on eBay and ordered up a set of black headlights with LED running lights, angel eyes, and projector-type reflectors. I also ordered a black mesh grille. Got all of it for less than the price of one stock headlight.

They arrived today so I went right to work installing them. First the bumper had to come off:

Then the new lights went on (the grille was also installed at this point, you can see it in the bumper lying on the floor):

I'm loving those Angel eyes and LED's:

You'll all have to forgive the fact that the car's filthy. It's been g down rain all day so I haven't been able to hit it with the pressure washer. Living in the boonies means bug covered bumper pretty much all summer...

That is very cool. I'm not a Chrysler guy by any stretch, but I think you made a serious improvement on the front-end of that machine. Nice work!

Of course I couldn't just replace the headlights and grille. I also ordered up some new tail lights. The stockers just look too plain:

So I got some nice black tail lights with LED stop/tail and normal bulbs for turn and backup. I really like these tail lights:

Zach! Howdy stranger!

I'm no Mopar fan either, but I love the 300's - ever since they first came out I've loved 'em. Ford doesn't offer a decent full size RWD car (actually, with the death of the Panther, they don't offer one at all), and G8's are too expensive and look too much like a generic GM. The 300 is not only the coolest RWD American sedan, it (and its LX/LY platform mates) is the only one. The new 300's are OK, but I think they took some of the 300-ness out of them. The auto magazines all say Chrysler lessened the "slab sided" look - I happen to like that slab sided look. The new interior is definitely nicer though. My 300's interior is decent enough, but plain.

Anyway, more pics, these ones outside in the rain:

It's going to get even better - I've ordered up a set of 20" wheels & tires to replace the corroded up 17" stockers (the 17" wheels will now be relegated to winter duty)

Here are the wheels that are on it, complete with an SUV-like 215/65R17 tire (I mean it, the Jeep Patriot comes with the same size tire). This pic was actually taken the day I bought the car:

And here is an image with the wheels I've ordered. Tire size will be 245/45R17:

Now you just just need the Halo/Angel Eye Foglights to match along with some H.I.D.s. I think it was planned by Chrysler for the 300 and Charger for them to look decent with 20"+ rims. 17"s will look good.

You misunderstood - it's got 17's on it now. I've ordered 20's.

I will definitely be upgrading the headlights to HID, too, at least the low beams. Can't do it to the high beams because of the daytime running lights (they run at reduced voltage)

Looks good!  How do you like the 300?  Has it been a decent car, reliability wise? v8?

I love it. The only problem I've had with it is I've had to replace both front lower radius arms, which cost me $100 for the pair and took about 15 minutes each to replace. Zero troubles otherwise, and I've put over 60,000 km (40k miles) on it in the year and a half I've owned it. I bought that new Sonata hoping to save on fuel and keep the mileage down on the 300, but I feel so guilty about putting so many miles on the Sonata so fast (bought it in April, already 10k km) that I still drive the 300.

Alas, it's only a 3.5 V6 (the 2.7 version was not sold in Canada). Beacuse I drive it so much I figured the Hemi would burn too much fuel. Once I sell my house and move closer to the city I may sell it and get a Hemi version, but until then the V6 is adequate. Of course if I do that I'll have to transfer the pimp parts to the new one :hick:

Ain't that the truth! The G8 looks like an overcooked '95 Grand Am GT.
