Thinking of something a little different, body color side moldings. Opinions?

I always liked the black TC's the best, followed by the dark blue. I think part of the reason is that the side moldings blend right in with the side of the car.

I want to stay silver on my car, but think it will look nice with the moldings painted silver, leaving the red center strip and using red turbocoupe lettering.

This is the closest pic I could find to what I am intending. He went with a lower black stripe.

What do YOU think?

westie, fordguy545 had some info on his CP car build. It's in the last few pages I believe.

The more I think about it the more I think I'll just go all silver. Just satin black turbocoupe letters, with matching satin on the bird emblems.

Do it...makes the car look more "modern".  I'm planning on painting mine matte silver and keeping the chrome trim.

I love the moldings painted.  Definately modernizes these cars when done right.

My feelings exactly. Makes it look much more modern and less 'squatty'.

Looking at that photo again I think the black is just a shadow, and his is all silver.

I'm doing it!

What I think now is to go all silver, and do a reverse effect on the turbocoupe insert badges, so the lettering will be satin black on silver. Do the back emblems satin black as well (especially since mine are weathered a bit). I haven't decided if I'll keep the bird emblems chrome or black them out as well.

Which would look better do you think?

I like the moldings painted too, which is why I'm going to get my paint job redone in a few months. I want the classic Thunderbird blue/grey back and want the moldings to match. It makes it stand out in the crowds, and as stated "modernizes the car"

And i like the chrome emblems. I had mine refurbished because the chrome had a little bit of tarnishing on em.

I deleted all the emblems when I painted the car.  My car had all kinds of  on it.  It had "electronic fuel injection" emblems on each fender and "automatic overdrive" on the trunk.  It was like driving around with the whole option list in chrome.  Now, only the birds in the tail lights and grill remain.

Yeah, I guess it was an 80's thing to badge it up.

flylear, I think my favorite TC colors are white, silver and black in that order.  I have a twilight blue metallic TC I'll trade you for your silver one!  :)

I think you should stay chrome on the emblems.  I have a 5.0 Mustang that is silver (titanium frost) with only the window trim satin black - all moldings/trim are silver.  The chrome ford emblems and 5.0 emblems look very nice in my opinion.

How did the emblems turn out? Would you recommend the place that did them? Do you remember how much it cost you?

All my emblems have some weathering. The nose badge is best, but the sides and rears are shaky at best.
