86 xr7 2.3 March 27, 2011, 01:57:28 PM This might be a dumb question but here it goes. Last fall fan worked fine but now (not that its very warm here) it has yet to come on. The fan motor is nearly new and the control unit(behind the glove box is new). I ran a jumper to the fan motor and it ran so I know its ok so my ? is this. Where is the temp switch located at and can that be tested to see if its functioning? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. Quote Selected

If it runs with the A/C the problem is the fan switch or the wiring to it.If it doesn't run with the A/C it gets back to fuse link K or the ignition switch. If the ignition switch is the problem, the turn signals won't work. Quote Selected

I know I had a ignition switch problem as I just replaced it a couple weeks ago. Man , let the car sit all winter and everything went to heck. Quote Selected
86 xr7 2.3 Reply #3 – March 28, 2011, 04:13:49 PM Unplug the connector on the fan switch and jumper the two wires together.The fan should run with the ignition in run.If that works, it just leaves the switch as the problem. Do you have a meter if we need to trouble shoot further ? Quote Selected

86 xr7 2.3 Reply #5 – April 03, 2011, 02:34:14 PM Ok, switch got ordered and when I got there to pick up it has 2 round male pins and I know the plug I jumpered to make the fan work was 2 spades(very small). Anyhow, are there multiple choices? or is this just more of my good luck with AutoZone? Also how much coolant should I expect to loose when I finally get this straightened out? Quote Selected
