So I took my wife to get tires with me today....

No, this is not a joke. Funny, but true.

So we're sitting there and she asks me "what's taking so long? Don't they just have to take them off and put them on like at the racetrack?"

So I had to explain to here that tires and wheels are not the same thing.

Just the Red Bird. 100% serious. She then proceeded to ask me "why don't they just make wheels with the tires attached?"

I then explained to her that there are about 875,000 different wheel and tire combinations.........

They put the rears on backwards. I had to have them change it before I paid.

Couldn't get the financing for the Frontier. I'm looking at another one right now that's newer and I hopefully can get a loan on. The other one was too old and the bank wouldn't use it to secure the loan but this one's an 04 and they should do it.

I don't know at this point if I'm going to get tires on the Cougar anytime soon. As much as I would really love to, I just don't think between making truck payments and not getting the o/t that I thought I was going to get, I don't know if it's going to happen. If my stupid headers that I ordered almost a month ago will ever show up then I should be able to get my exhaust completed then after that I can throw money at tires. But with a set of good tires on the stock R15's runs about $500 it could be awhile....

I don't understand how the "professionals" at tire shops can put the wheels on backwards. The  things are marked, for crying out loud.

Sometimes these people realy amaze me too...

No lie, one time I had to get two new tires on my Exploder, so I told them to just swap my regular spare on there. An hour later, they call me and go "Hey man, where is your spare tire?" I told them it was under the truck, and they said okay we'll swap it. An hour later, I get another call and they ask "Hey man where is your jack?"
IT'S A TIRE SHOP, WHY DO YOU NEED MY JACK?!?!

I'll never go there again....

Hey Sarj....now your wife knows a little bit more than she did about car stuff.

I have to get my new front tires installed soon, then one of my current front tires will go onto my new rim for a spare. i can trust the shop I go to. They also have the new equipment that doesn't touch the wheel and scratch the wheels up. Good stuff.

Um... to get your spare tire down? You do know you need the jack handle to do it, right? And that most mechanics don't keep jack sets for every vehicle out there, not even tire shop mechanics?
