Most of the preserved low mile ones are not only brown but also have a 3.8........

That is absolutely true. Must be because they wouldn't climb hills, so their owners parked them and let them sit, lol. Not that my stock 5.0 is a powerhouse, but I can proceed up a hill on the highway without it downshifting into 3rd. And I can punch it and move a little, lol.

I don't mind brown either. In a sea of black, silver, white, blue and red cars it stands out. And adds to the classic car look. The conti kit has to go though.
