1987 T-Bird AEROBIRD-GT had many many mods but is now totaled and is the car that made me want to start customizing everything all over again.

I think it looks great! It sucks you had to put so much work into it just to make it fit but at least the end result looks to be worth it. It was the same with my hood, it took a good bit of work to make it right but I love the end result.

I hear you on that, I bought the same hood, but now my hood fits better then the stock one did.lol

I still have to use a hook to lift it enough to get my hand under it because of the lip it has but I'm willing to put up with it.

oh you are supposed to cut all that off. I have about 3/8"-1/2" of lip on the outside, and smooth under the cowl.

We were afraid if we cut it down it would come apart since it's got the finished underside. Seeing your's now, the next time I get the car painted it'll be getting cut down. Have you had any cracking? Mine has a couple on the sides of the cowl. Nothing major but they're there. They'll be taken care of as well when I get it painted again.

yeah one on the corner where it was dropped and repaired before I bought it(that's why I got a $350 refund!!!!)I thought I had it fixed but the paint kept sucking in, and one little split on the very top of the cowl near the edge.

Yeh, I knew it wasnt a plug and play unit. I paid some guy to fab mine up before I had my first billet grille made (4 years ago before this grill even came into production). The manufacturer should put in a disclaimer that the grille surround needs to be professionally modified for the grille to mount.
