88 tbird getting molested Reply #60 – March 11, 2011, 05:29:22 PM Yeah, it's going to stay four lug for now. Eventually I may go five lug with Billet Specialties wheels. I didn't get a chance to roll it out. It's been a pretty busy day working on other stuff. Next time I get a chance to work on it I'll roll it out and get the engine bay ready for paint. I also need to clean up the garage then. It's to the point where it's almost impossible to find my tools. Hopefully I'll have the engine here in the next couple weeks to finish the mounts and drop it in. I STILL haven't gotten my turbo yet so I'm not in a major rush to get the motor. Quote Selected
88 tbird getting molested Reply #61 – March 17, 2011, 04:01:06 PM Well I was planning on just getting the engine bay ready for paint today but that didn't happen. I ended up getting it ready AND painted it. It looks pretty good I think. I still need a little more paint to finish it up.I ended up cancelling my order with Ponydown. They were taking way too long and had terrible communication. I'm probably going to end up getting an S475 and just run a big single. Those turbos have been mid 5's in the eighth in 3200 pound cars so it will still be just as fast. Quote Selected

I'm just trying to get an idea about how low I'm going to be able to get this thing. I'm at 13.5" right now with absolutely nothing in my car. How low do you want it? My car is 10.125" from the floor to the bottom front corner of the door. Quote Selected

I'll do it the right way when I paint the whole car.The wait time with Ponydown was my main issue. I ordered my turbo a month ago and still haven't gotten any word about it. I've tried to get some information from them but they just never answer. Quote from: gumby;355640How low do you want it? My car is 10.125" from the floor to the bottom front corner of the door. Really freaking low lol. I want it to have a very small rake to it, almost level, with a 28 inch tire tucked pretty far in the back. Quote Selected

88 tbird getting molested Reply #67 – March 17, 2011, 08:19:36 PM Sorry to hear Ponydown let you down. I have had good luck with B&G. I sent them an EDIS wheel when they were playing with Megasquirt, and they sent it back a year later when I asked for it. I have also ordered some parts from them and got them in a timely fashion. Brian is a good guy in my experience. They are busy, so I can't vouch for communication.Looking good on the progress! Quote Selected

Brian is a good guy in my experience. They are busy, so I can't vouch for communication.Looking good on the progress! I'm not really upset about it. They make good turbo kits from everything I've seen and heard. I was under the impression that they had the Master Power turbos in stock but that's not the case. They have them drop shipped directly from Brazil so they really don't have control of when you get them. I was just going to wait it out because it's not that big of a deal, I would have gotten it eventually. The thing that pushed me over the edge and caused me to cancel my order was the s. I ordered two t4 s from them exactly one month ago. Eight days ago he finally emailed me that the s went out. I never got a tracking number and still don't have the s. Forced Inductions has the t6 s475's with 1.32 housings in stock, so I'll most likely just order one of those as soon as Ponydown refunds my money. Quote Selected
88 tbird getting molested Reply #69 – March 17, 2011, 09:09:36 PM Does your K-member have raised pick up points, or multiple sets of holes for the LCA mounting height? If not, the factory geometry will limit how low you can get the car. Quote Selected
88 tbird getting molested Reply #70 – March 17, 2011, 10:01:15 PM My k-member has stock 94-95 mounting points. If you're talking about the rear lca mounting points, then yes. I'm using these brackets:Are your tires 26 inches? It's hard to judge the height difference with different tire sizes but I think I'd be happy with it a little higher than yours, probably an inch higher at the most. Quote Selected
88 tbird getting molested Reply #72 – March 17, 2011, 11:38:42 PM Cool, I'll also be running 26's in the front. It should drop a little farther in the front once I get the Mustang c/c plates installed. The struts aren't extending all the way through the Tbird strut mounts at the moment, so I think I've got at least an extra half inch there. It should also drop a considerable amount once all the weight is back in the car. The back sits up like a truck right now but that's with stock springs and no weight. I'll be able to get it as low as I want with coilovers. Quote Selected
88 tbird getting molested Reply #73 – March 28, 2011, 01:18:55 PM Well, I finally have a turbo. I gave up on Ponydown and ordered one from VSRacing. It's a Borg Warner / Bullseye Performance S475 with a 1.32 housing. I also got five 2.5" 180's for the hotside. Quote Selected
