boosted carb motor question

has anyone here ever messed with an edelbrock on a boosted sbf? i put my turbo setup together today on the capri with a 6AL, retard box and holley 0-81770 770cfm that was worked a bit to be used as a blow-through.. my wideband A/F gauge says it's running rich, no matter what jets i throw at it.

i have 2 edelbrocks.. a 1412 800cfm and a 1805 650cfm which are stock off the shelf.. has anyone used or know anyone who has used either carb or any edelbrock on a boosted small block? this is for a 408 stroker as my sig states.. i was only running 12psi when i was trying to jet it down, as that's where i'd like to keep it for roaming the streets

other than running rich, she's ready to kill hondas :D

Now all you need to do is take the MSD box off and throw it in the trash.  A guy I used to work with in Jersey lost a few custom made cometic head gaskets on his turbo'ed 2.6 Nissan(KA motor) stroker motor before he found out that his MSD boost timing master(BTM) box wasn't working.  After he removed it and backed the base timing down he never had another problem and that was the nastiest 240sx I've ever been in.

Good luck,
Don

the retard box got disconnected at the track when the holley was being a POS.. i set the timing by hand and made a few runs down the street thinking that was the issue.. that's when i switched carbs and it was fine

I'm in the process of building a 64 prostreet falcon with a built 302 with a procharger D-1 set up using a holley 650 d/p... converting it to blow thru. Found a lot of great info on turboforum.com everything that u could ever want to know.. to make my setup work better on the street my dad and I r building custom boost reference power valves to be able to lean out the mixture at idle. I personally like holley been using them for years! The edlebrock crabs r easy to work on and do work good on n/a combos but for boosted apps. I would use the holleys just my opinion.

i've always liked edelbrocks more.. you just have to go higher on the cfm scale to get the same performance you would with a holley.. but the edelbrock is coming off soon for a F.A.S.T. injection setup
