Will the new 5.0 fit into a 87' Bird? Reply #16 – July 30, 2011, 10:23:24 PM I have added to my prayer list a bounty of ponys to arrive in the bone yards across the nation!lol,, now, How hard would a 2011 pony to vintage 5.0 EFI swap be?then I could go rent a 2011 pony, swap out the motor and call it good..........like they did to all the hertz mustangs long ago.then there is the whole idea of getting caught which would really suck,, hope the judge understands. Will the new 5.0 fit into a 87' Bird? Reply #19 – August 28, 2011, 07:21:18 PM We are doing a COYOTE swap in an early mustang at the shop right now. Basically an engine swap is an easy thing to do. All it takes is money lots of it and time. That is the bottom line on engine swaps. Basically once the shock towers are removed and a new front end installed their is room. But their is a lot of fabrication on any swap of this magnitude. Quote Selected
Will the new 5.0 fit into a 87' Bird? Reply #20 – August 28, 2011, 10:42:58 PM On a bird, you wouldn't need to remove the strut towers, But then again, they are wider than a early stang. Quote Selected

Will the new 5.0 fit into a 87' Bird? Reply #24 – September 22, 2011, 10:27:52 AM Pretty sweet swap. When you have everything ready to go including the bankroll to pull it off i imagine it's easy. Ugly ass car though. Quote Selected
