Another Ride comes my way.....

I just got the Mustang and along came another sweet (read cheaaaaaaaap) deal.

My New Old 1983 Suzuki GS550L.  Has ignition problems and no keys.  Hasn't been on the road in quite some time.

Its got good compression and all the parts are there.  Even came with an extra set of tires/rims.  Little elbow grease and it should be a nice commuter.

When I moved out of MI I left my 78 GS550 behind.  I still ride it when I visit my parents cabin.  When I bought it, it had no front brake, couldn't idle, and the headlight/cluster came in a shopping bag.

My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

Nice bike!  I used to have a '79 GS1000E. Crazy reliable! I currently have a VX800, but I'll be selling that soon to finance my '69 Triumph build.

I like the vintage bikes for some reason.  I learned to ride on an early 70s Honda 90 when I was 13.  I bought my 78 in college for peanuts ($150).  I spent a good couple weeks cleaning all the chrome and aluminum.  My father has a small collection of classic small bikes including early 70s CB100 and a CB125.  I think they have taught half a dozen people how to ride.  I would love to get a classic Indian or Triumph some day.

I wish the 83 was older but for the price I couldn't pass it up.

Suzuki's seem unappreciated.  The 70s bikes had some chronic carb problems which condemned otherwise nice bikes to backyards and garages.

I'ill have to get some pics of the 100 and 125.  The 125 sat in a garage for years because of a failing oil pump.  New pump (and cam) and it's nearly perfect.
