Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. July 31, 2010, 02:57:26 PM My little brother just got out of BMC & is currently doing his tech training, when he comes home in Nov he has offered me quite a wad of cash for my SVO, now.. I like my SVO, but it has it's issues..however I have an opertunity to graduate up (size wise) to an '88 Turbocoupe. Physically they are in about the same condition but with the extra cash left over from the TC I can remedy that problem..so....should I do it? And before anyone says it, my brother knows all about the issues with my car (he wants mine due to it's IRS), and is perfectly happy with the price he offered me for it...so is someone gonna talk me out of selling it or should I start planning on what color to paint my new TC? :dunno: Quote Selected
Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #1 – July 31, 2010, 03:32:44 PM Start planning stuff for the TC Birds are way cooler. You will still have an awsome car, and then have cash to do things to it. That is always a plus. I say go for it. Is this TC a 5 speed? Quote Selected

Is this TC a 5 speed?I agree on the "cool factor", had this been a 5.0 to a regular stang I wouldn't even question it, but being an SVO made me pause..I believe it is a 5 spd, but not sure the interior is supposed to be near perfect. The guy I am getting it from has another TC that he's stroked to a 2.5 so I have a go-to guy locally on birds as well. One question I have is the front ends, are the control arms/ball joints as much a pita as the SVO stuff iss or are they more readily available? Quote Selected

Front end stuff is way easier to get than SVO stuff, However I sold my SVO to my brother and I wish I had kept it.......... of course I sold my 86 Turbo Coupe to buy my SVO:hick: Quote Selected
Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #4 – July 31, 2010, 05:37:02 PM With the interior being near perfect (especially if the dash top is in great shape), and already knowing someone who knows their birds, it is seeming like a better deal. Of course most of us here are biased to the fox cats and birds LOL. You won't be disappointed. Quote Selected
Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #5 – July 31, 2010, 05:59:48 PM SVO's are rare but Turbo coupes are very comfortable and getting rarer by the day. I say save the TC some may say I'm crazy since i have 4 TC's :hick: Quote Selected

Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #8 – July 31, 2010, 08:34:29 PM Holy Sh*t I would pounce on that for 1200. A car like that around here would easily bring around 2g's. Quote Selected
Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #9 – August 16, 2010, 05:26:46 PM Figured I'd follow up, rust under the paint/around the rear window and the motor makes very little power.. not wanting a huge project again.. will wait & see what else turns up. Quote Selected
Dear Abby..I have a Problem.. Reply #10 – August 16, 2010, 05:33:10 PM SVO's are very rare and have more value than a Turbo Coupe. So make sure you get a fair value for it.TED Quote Selected
