I'm right there with you guys! 80's metal was the best. I've been mainly listening to country since the 90's but lately I've been getting back into listening to rock. Nickel Back and Hinder are awsome! They would fit right in with the 80's music.

Never really cared for the hard rock, except maybe some Ted Nugent stuff, but don't like his politics, the little I know about it anyway. Used to like Van Halen, until all my tapes were stolen except the one VH tape that was under the seat. It's all I could listen to and I got sick of them. David Lee Roth seemed like an a$$ every time I saw him on MTV back when MTV had music.
I think my biggest problem is I got old. Sort of out grew that kind of music. I will never be too old to like The Tubes. My favorite band of all time, except maybe The Beatles.
Even though I dislike that kind of music, I'd LOVE to be in one of those bands and have all sorts of shagy groupies to chose from.

I won't say that I quit listening to the hair rock, but I did open my ears to new stuff as well.

Saw Def Lepp twice, would love to go to a Cinderella show.

Motley Crue. Wish I had a time machine...would love to go back to about 1987 to see them live when they were the ass-kickers.
GnR too....

My band plays some hair metal covers! 80's Van Halen, night ranger, and the scorpions to name a few...I'm all about metalcore and neo-classical as a personal preferance.

I'm more of a Psychedelic Rock kind of guy (Zeppelin, Allman Bros., Hendrix), but a lot of those guys did have big hair. Newer stuff I listen to is still a bit retro, like Jet, Kula Shaker, and Wolfmother. Riff based rock.
