Mark VII axles in turbo coupe housing.

Will Mark VII axle shafts and brake setups work in a 88 turbo coupe housing? I just got my turbo coupe axle, only to discover the braking system is missing components. However, I can get a mark VII axle complete. I would like to use the lower turbo coupe gears, so can i swap the axles and brakes over to the turbo coupe housing? I know it will be slightly wider, that's not a problem.
Thanks,
Chris

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Thanks but I was just trying to find out for sure before I drag the Mark axle home in the morning and tear into both. I should probably mention that the Mark axle is a late 80's LSC 8.8w/ discs

Well, considering there are 3 threads right about this one regarding rear axles, etc...

Start HERE

Also, just pick up a tape measure and take your own measurements.  It's as simple as that...

There were 2 rear brake set ups used on the Mk7's.  The first was the 11.5" disc set-up, the later was a smaller 10".  Not exactly sure when the change was made, but it was late in the model run, 90-ish.
The 11.5" stuff used longer axles and the narrower "Mustang" housing.  The 87-88TC 8.8housing was the narrower "Mustang" housing as well.  Not sure of the housing on the later Mk7 10" disc rear.
