After 70 years in business, Ford has decided to kill Mercury. My dreams of a resurrected Cougar are smashed. It was cheaper for Ford to kill off the brand then to fix what was wrong with it. Honestly, I think we all knew this was coming. I mean who hasn't mistaken a Mountaineer for an Explorer, Mariner for an Escape, Milan for a Fusion etc. They played the GM card of badge engineering and payed the same price the General did. The murder of a beloved (albiet past) brand. RIP Mercury
