Help installing power antenna

I need to install my newly acquired power antenna. The wiring passes through the body panel and under the dash. I know I can splice the power wires, but what about the antenna wire that plugs into back of radio? Can that be spliced too, or I have to run it all the way into the back of the radio?

You cannot pull it out. When I swapped my fender to a standard antenna, I could not figure out a way to do it. I just cut it. Also, my power antenna did not work and was bent up.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

No I cant, so is it OK to splice it and solder it? Is it just a bunch of thick wire?

It looked like standard coaxial cable to me. Almost like what you plug into your tv. How good of a connection does it have to be? How many people have you seen put a coat hanger into their antenna?

There is no splicing necessary...I'm not understanding.

The red and green wires end in a harness which plugs into the power antenna switch harness behind the radio. The coax antenna lead plugs into the back of the radio. Couldn't be simpler.

The wiring runs above the glove box. Drop the glove box and you'll see them, very easy to spot. It's not difficult to get to anything. Just take your time.
