'99-04 mustang V6 camshaft

anybody ever put one of these in their '88 3.8? Cool Cats says that the possibility of a better camshaft could enhance the engine's performance....anybody have any ideas if it would work, and if so, how much power would be gained?

I did that once to an 83 Tbird I had. With a fresh timing chain, it helped, but it was a lot of work with little reward.

99-04 3.8s are a completely different animal with split port intake and heads. They also have roller cams, something an 88 3.8 does not have.

A bigger cam isn't going to do much. The 3.8 is a turd N/A with out split port heads and intake.

I have heard very good things about morana's cams but they are a lot of money (for the budgetwise {or the broke})

btw I live up near Ocala ya mite wanna meet up some time?

mind explaining this one a bit more, as there were quite a few differences in the block from 83-99+

Yeah dude that'd be sweet. My car is only the 6 cylinder, but she's pretty. Where near Ocala? I live in New Tampa but my parents live in Inverness (where the car is actually located), so I'm there pretty frequently.

Nvm, you're in Belleview. Idk if you ever played soccer, but I played for Lecanto High and we went to Belleview quite a few times.

Sounds like a plan. I'll send you a PM a few days ahead of time to finalize things.

There's a guy that runs around Inverness that has an '86 with a 302 (not stock, and looks pretty quick judging by how fast he got away from me at a light) and I know a guy with a couple of TC hoods cheap (got mine for 20 bucks :) ), plus some other various thunderbird interior pieces, bumpers, etc. Another guy with a non-stock TC is selling his here in Tampa for 2200 bucks that runs pretty awesomely.
