Another one bites the dust... Reply #15 – May 10, 2010, 10:13:41 AM I suppose you could do that,,, I would sleeve the cylinder though. Punch out the hole a little then sleeve it so a new piston will fit snug.it depends on the condition of the hole though. Quote Selected

Reply #16 – May 10, 2010, 10:18:06 AM Quote from: jrad235;321303I have the same question Jcassity, those pistons look a hell of a lot cleaner than my old motor did..with a prolonged coolant leak, they will wash out clean the motor.Ive heard that if you want to clean your cyl's out, you remove plugs , add transmission fluid to the hole, replace plugs and fire up the motor.it will loosen up sludge and carbon then smoke like hell for a while.cold coolant leaking into a cylinder is like putting cold water on hot glass, stuff breaks. Another one bites the dust... Reply #17 – May 10, 2010, 11:22:14 AM Yeah, there is something definitely wrong with the tune if that happened @ 10psi. The bottom end motors are seriously strong...much more so than the 5.0 bottom ends. They can hold up to a lot of abuse, so you have an issue if you melted a piston. You might have an injector issue on the #1. I would also wonder of the decks on your head and/or block are warped. Quote Selected
Another one bites the dust... Reply #18 – May 10, 2010, 04:51:07 PM I'm going to check the decks on both the motor and head (was gonna do that anyway before I noticed the piston). I know people think I'm nuts because I didn't see it at first but at 4'10" when I stand outside the engine bay and cyl 1 is down, I can't even see it, lol. I do most work standing on the front sway bar even with the fan in... Quote Selected
Another one bites the dust... Reply #19 – May 10, 2010, 05:10:48 PM What Chuck said...You have a injector issue, either very dirty, damaged or maybe incorrect type... Also could have a weak fuel pump, regulator issue, or dirty fuel filter... Generally by 90-100Kmi, a TC pump is already headed for that old F/P graveyard in the sky, I changed 5-6 in the TCs I bought to resell... Quote Selected
Another one bites the dust... Reply #20 – May 10, 2010, 05:55:11 PM Yeah, I was going to do the whole system if I put it back together. Basically what I do depends on if I get a job I'm going for. Quote Selected

Another one bites the dust... Reply #22 – May 11, 2010, 07:11:23 AM You got it. This was in 05 pulling the turbo on my old 85 TC before I had to junk it cuz I was moving (I got it with a bad motor and just drove it till it died). I regret having to junk that car every time I look at my birds, I like the 4 eyed ones way better and it's the only one I ever had. Quote Selected
