the GT40 heads (as far as I know, others are more knowlegable) are going to be the same heads, the "GT40" is the design of the head. The aluminum will be lighter and will disapate heat much better than the iron heads. so you will have lighter/cooler heads with the aluminum. not sure on if there is other performance gains over that but a cooler incoming air temp will get you a fraction more horse power and wieght is wieght when tenth's count.

depends on how far you go with the engine

turbo guys complain that the GT40's dont hold gaskets very well, and that the aluminum is worse, but if you dont plan on getting that nasty with it, either would work
It's Gumby's fault.

youl be hard pressed to pull 300 at the wheels on GT40's

The GT40 Irons were one of the first performance heads for the 5.0.. They are decent heads, but don't flow nearly as good as the aluminun GT40s(there are at least 3 different versisons of the GT40 alloy heads). Anyway with a performance cam and any big valve heads(other than the Trick Flows), there will be valve to piston clearance problems on the flat top piston SO 5.0.

Does trick flow have kind of advantage or what? i've noticed you seem to mention them alto as being exceptions, like as far as head and cam, you have the flat top running their cam and no problem and i thought if flat top you had to change them them ones with relief valve or have a really mild cam. and heads too why will theres clear?
