clutch, and stuff

i was driving my 88 tc that has been on the road for about 5 mouths. i was running her to a point because my tcs speedo and tach and some other things arnt working due to im guessing a couple of fried wires. but any way felt kinda lagy. so i tested it and looked for vacuum leaks and turned out it was getting worse. i discovered driving it more was the old beat up clutch that i learned to drive on is almost gone. i was cruising and can to a hill and tore up the clutch even more, are top speed limping home was 45 MPH from seaford De. i need to change the clutch soon because i need to get my wiring  finished and it will be a perfect running car what clutch should i put in, part numbers would be welcomed. i have a K&N filter and a 3' stinger exhaust.  i herd about Kevlar clutches, are they good and do they make them for our cars, i plan when im done modding to have 375 HP at the crank, does that change up any thing lol. oh and it is a 2.3 turbo engine

Ummm, wow.

5 mouths? what's that in earth time? lol

"the old beat up clutch that i learned to drive on is almost gone"
that's usually what happens...did for me as well, although in a Jeep CJ.

Kevlar clutch would be a bit overkill for a stock engine. Get a good replacement clutch, fix the  wiring, worry about modding another day when you have ALL the gremlins worked out.
Little piddly stuff like wiring will bug you even with a 375 horse 2.3, so fix that first. Then we'll worry about this horsepower  lol

BTW, mozilla has a fine spellchecker...I highly recommend it! ;):D

i was thinking for whats ahead, planing for what im going to do, i dont want to build power on a stock cluck and have the clutch slip again, thats a waist of money i think, im on a tight budget so i dont want to have to spend to much money on one thing. like i said befor the wiring i am def, going to fix, im not letting it go. just the clutch i want done once and for all

I have an old-school ford heavy duty clutch in my Modified 5.0.  In stop and go traffic it really gives my left calf a work out.  It isn't something I would want to daily drive.  Just something you should keep in mind if this is your DD.  Mine isn't a DD so I don't mind it too much. Maybe something with a centrifugal assist if you plan on making big HP.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

???? He said 375.  Whatever torque a 800hp 2.3L makes would twist that poor T5 in half.  A clutch wouldn't save it.

EDIT:  Sorry, took a minute for the sarcasm to eek through. I agree with sport 302 though.  Sounds like you got some other serious issues to worry about.  Mostly the impending dash fire.
