1992 F-150 Project

I know its not a T-bird or Cougar, but I figured that I would share it. Its a 92 F150 Flareside with a 300 I-6 and a 5 speed. I bought it 3 years ago and never really used it. its been sitting for quite a while now and with the nice weather this weekend i decided to tear into it with hopes of restoring it,

Nice looking truck. i've always loved the flare sides. Whats the plans for it?

Going with a V8, or keeping the six holer?

Also, looked at the pics a few times...hard to tell. Does it have a solid front end, or is it still the TTB?

It still has the TTB in it, not sure if I want solid axle or not. If the wallet approves then i will be swapping a v-8 in. I'm only 2 days into it, which I think is good progress considering that i have school full time.

You should move to BC. I have a pair of D70's, couple D60's, and two 351 parts trucks complete. We could make one helluva deal! lol

The D44 can be built up pretty good, 16" of travel and excellent articulation. Or you could swap in a ttb D50 if you needed more strength. I have an 84 Bronco runnin 35's on the ttb 44, as long as you dont pile full throttle in to holes they hold up pretty good.

Allegedly the 300 I6 is a torque monster and you cant kill them easily.  I say keep it.

They used to run them in full size dump trucks.

I had an 89 with the I6 back in my pary days my friends and I beat the  out of that motor and just keept going altho the 5 speed went threw like 3 of them

i know all about the I-6's torque. haha, my 76 Maverick had the 250 I-6 in it. I do like them, but the sound and feel of a v-8 interests me.

If your goin V8 get a 351W, the 302 would just disappoint you.

If youre going to go 351W get one out of a late 94 or newer pick up.
That would be a factory roller motor.

To be sure, look above the starter for the casting number (F4TE) and that is a factory roller block.

X2 on the last 2 posts, as well as 5 speed, find a ZF, if you're going to have a windsor in, as a the M5 won't last. Hell, I destroyed one behind my 302.
