1'' foam so i can cut out tool shapes.

foam must be durable enough to lift out as it will be stacked atop another layer of foam with tools.

I have some of this stuff left over from a speaker build. I think it would work well in this application. Don't really have much left myself but i purchased it from P.E.

9 layers would of 15''x18'' would be pretty expensive.  Ive been trolling some foam sites, now that i have a little bit of time.

seems like the stuff i remember in the navy,, closed cell black foam that we had to paint on top with red then cut 1/4'' or so to lay the tool in.

4 sheet free sample arrived yesterday.

great stuff, starting on the tool layout today.

This can be a part of the bill of materials for a backup generator with sound deadening applied to the interior housing.  I stumbled across this stuff while setting a 250kva gen in kentucky for Insight.  Never really paid attention to the material since gensets only represent a small percentage of projects i manage.
