Fix or Sell the 88 XR-7 December 03, 2009, 08:19:49 PM I have an 88 xr-7 with 188,000 miles (100,000 on tranny), but it needs about $1500 in parts including a rear main seal, new exhaust pipes, y-pipe, lers, 4 new tires, as well as a TPS and possibly a couple other sensors...the car has had Mobil 1 for most of the life and has not been beaten on, just a couple of minor accidents (no frame damage)...Wondering if it is worth it to keep it and put in the money, or buy a used car and inherit someone else's problems...btw I am an unemployed, recent college grad with limited funds :(Any Ideas?!? Fix or Sell the 88 XR-7 Reply #1 – December 03, 2009, 10:00:08 PM $1000 you could drop in a really nice HO T5 drivetrain. Might be a good time for an upgrade. Quote Selected

Fix or Sell the 88 XR-7 Reply #10 – December 05, 2009, 10:34:00 PM From the pics it looks like you'd be hard pressed to find another example of these cars as clean as the one you have. There's guys by me selling perfectly good complete 5.0 HO motors regularly for $300-$500. Example: http://www.listangs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=43210I have NO idea what to make of the phone number though..... Maybe he means *82 or something like that......Should be a 516 or 631 area code though. Quote Selected
