tire fitting questions

i was just wondering if anybody knows if a can put a 235/50/17 tire in the back?
1988 LX coupe. a dressed up motor with full exhaust and BBK shorties with flowmasters, BBK CAI, accufab 65mm tb, HO upper intake, cobra valve covers.

I don't see why not.I have  275 40 17's out back.I was running 255 40 17's on the rear and still kept the quad shocks.With the 275's,the quads had to go.I have 255's up front now.
