My stepfather had that exact year and color when I was a kid!

Had the 455 with some highway gears.  An absolute animal after 40 MPH.

Theyre a love it or hate it car, and I love the boattail Riv's.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

Ya, She's my baby. My grandma used to sneek me out in it it and let me drive it. I was only 14, it was the first car I ever drove, you could say it started my love affair with the automobile.

It's a 72 grand sport. a few years ago I spun a rod barring. Never had the time or money to fix it, I'm about to have both.

The plan is to finnish the restoration My Grandfather started before he gave it to me.

my best friend is restoring a 73 gran sport stage1 car.
bought from the original owner. weighs around 5000 lbs.
has run low 14's at the pure stock drags in michigan. he has
had mint 71 and 72's also over the years. fast and comfortable
cars. you will love driving it.

I dont think I would do a ford 460 swap. It'd keep it just like it is. Antique cars are worth much less when they are all butchered up.
