Reply #17 – August 22, 2009, 01:39:38 PM Since you are new here I will cut you some slack, and not comment too much on your first couple of paragraphs, except for this....You obviously have no idea how many close calls I have had. if I wasnt paying attention I would have had quite a few accidents from old people not paying attention to what they are doing. (backing out of driveways only looking one direction, pulling out of a driveway right in front of me, slamming on their brakes and turning with no signals, etc... this is my first involvment in a wreck in 14 years of driving... all the other times I was able to swerve or stop intime to miss them. this time was unavoidable. Further, I suspect it is one from which you will think yourself exempt when your time to be "old" comes along. Are there people from whom the privilege of driving should be removed? Absolutely, but it should be done on a case by case basis. Your statement is as silly as the one so many politicians make when they claim that all "old cars" should be removed from the highway as they are unsafe, gross-polluters.
