Old people shoul NOT have licences.....

OK, so some idiot runs into your car, and you think that all "old people" shouldn't be allowed to drive?

Last time I washiznit was by a guy in his 40's who ran into me in his semi. Maybe they need to outlaw semis and guys in their 40's. Then there was the pregnant lady...

Anyway, bummer about the car, looks nice otherwise. Doesn't look to un-fixable though. Have you gotten an estimate on it yet?

Well if you can't say somethin' nice don't say nuthin' at all, she's got good looking feet... :hick:

As far as old people, I'm probably as old as she is(but I'm better lookin')...

Sorry about your car...

Since you are new here I will cut you some slack, and not comment too much on your first couple of paragraphs, except for this....

You obviously have no idea how many close calls I have had.  if I wasnt paying attention I would have had quite a few accidents from old people not paying attention to what they are doing. (backing out of driveways only looking one direction, pulling out of a driveway right in front of me, slamming on their brakes and turning with no signals, etc...
this is my first involvment in a wreck in 14 years of driving...  all the other times I was able to swerve or stop intime to miss them.  this time was unavoidable.  The car will be going to the shop for a written estimate on monday, then I will give her the option to pay for it herself, or I will put it through the insurance.

No need to cut me some slack, you made a generalization that has little merit. Further, I suspect it is one from which you will think yourself exempt when your time to be "old" comes along.

Are there people from whom the privilege of driving should be removed? Absolutely, but it should be done on a case by case basis. Your statement is as silly as the one so many politicians make when they claim that all "old cars" should be removed from the highway as they are unsafe, gross-polluters.

There ARE programs in place in certain countries and jurisdictions that make it so retests are given to those who exhibit horrendous practical applications of their driving ability.

Why do so many MN-12s get hit right behind the door? I see this all the time.
