News and Updates

Hey everyone,

I know I disappear for stretches, but such is life when you work weird shifts. Anyway, thought I'd update you all on some news and decisions.

I found out last week that I was 8 weeks pregnant (SURPRISE! spit:) which I'm excited about. But as always with me nothin is ever easy and a whole week later the company I'm working for pretty much ped out and died so me, my boyfriend and about 30 other people got laid off.

Sadly I'm going to have to uh re-inventory my cars and I think I will be getting rid of my tc, so look for that coming soon in the for sale section. I'm keeping my 5.0 bird for now but that will probably be retired next year (unsafe is getting to be an understatement but the drivetrain rocks). And well being who I am I'm trying to hold on to the ranchero and definately keeping the prefect (don't care if it sits untouched for the next 5 years, it's mine!)

I'm hoping to sell the tc to a good home rather than someone who's gonna strip it and junk the body or drive it in to the ground. For being up north here the body is in excellent condition (needs work in the pass strut tower but other than that it's solid). It's got its quirks as any 165k mile tc will but I'll post it all up when I get to the sale point, just trying to gaue interest.

Hope everyone is well, I was bummed about CJ since I didn't make it out last year.

Congrats on the baby news. I hope that you get new employment soon.

As for the site in your signature, the link does not work.

84 TC manual shifter handle no  (For Sale)

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

OMG that's awesome! Congrats! Sucks about the layoffs but things will turn around. Work has been slow to non-existing in the construction sector/trade in MA (over 24% unemployment vs. the state average of like 9%). Still treading water though. Keep your chin up ;0)

I went to a cruise in out your way sunday and will probably drop in again next sunday if the weather is good. Mostly mustangs but usually a decent turn out. Wendys on RT 20 in Marlborough. You should drop in!

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

just where are you going to fit a baby:D

Hope you find another job, machine shops and such are always looking for good help especially with welding skills.  I hope you dig something up that you like to do.

Is the TC the one with the shaved door handles?,,i think you were one of the first ones to do that iirc.

Shame, Sunday NED is having nostalgia drags so I'm sure you can guess where I'll be ;) At 4 events a year I tend not to miss them (already missed one due to what I now know was morning sickness).

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I had an ultrasound last friday and found out I was more like 13 or so weeks than 9, hell I still dont even have a set due date, lol. My mom keeps picking on me cuz you can't even tell but I'm sure once the belly starts I'll be falling over.

As for the job thing, I've been looking but ike shame said, trades around here are pretty slow (especially since the big dig was finished, not that I'd want my name on that mess...)

The tc is pretty much stock, just has the T3 swap and stinger 3" exhaust. The sport has the shaved door handles. Will had em on his cougar before I ever joined up, got most of my tips on what to do and not do from him.

You guys will like this one, they did an ultrasound and figured out I was about a month further along than they thought, lol. So I'm oficially due on Feb 26 of 2010 (2010 makes it sound far though...).

As far as where am I gonna put the baby, I'm gonna be one of those very front heavy prego chicks, lol. At 15 weeks I only weigh 100 lbs (I lost 6 lbs over the first couple of months because morning sickness is evil!)

I also got a call about a possible job today! :burnout:

Shame, is the cruise every sunday or were u saying head up to NED any sunday? You should head out to the Bass Pro Shop on a Thursday when they do a cruise night, They had 1200+ cars there last week! It's every other Thursday afternoon so the next one would be on the 10th. There's always the demo derby at seekonk speedway this coming sunday too!

My wife never really got the morning sickness, but I hear its unforgiving. Hang in there buddy, if you have a girl I'm sure she'll be hiding in that engine bay like you were in the pictures :rollin:
