Weekend turned bad...

Well this weekend started out great, Saturday was beautiful weather, worked on my uncles 69 Mach 1 390 getting some bugs out. Such a pretty car, got to drive it quite a bit too. Tom(turbocoupe50) stopped by to share his knowledge on the FE engine. I finished the interior on the Tbird by installing the other seat and cleaning up. Took the car out Sat night with the girl for a nice turnout car show, met up with some friends, raced a bolton 02 SS and an Eclipse Turbo, both nice runs....

Well, Sunday turns bad, on the way back from church I rearended a  honda accord when I wasnt able to stop from 45mph-0mph in about 2 seconds flat. For some reason the driver in front of the accord slammed on his brakes, the accord could stop, but my front skinnies left a 15-20ft skid mark. It barely scratched the rear of the accord but it screwed my front end up pretty bad. Looks like Im gonna be doing that TC front end conversion sooner than I thought. Luckily it didnt hurt the TC hood or the headlights, just cracked the fiberglass front end and kinda mangled the bumper cover. Hopefully I can get by with just replacing the front end. I plan to also do the paint now, Ive decided on a Charcoal Gunmetal metal-flake color which Ive always liked. The car didnt suffer any mechanical damages, I just drove it awhile ago. But this is just my luck, just when I get the car nearly how I want it and Im having a blast driving it this happens. Oh well, this is my first accident thats my fault since Ive had my license so I cant complain. Id like to be able to have the car fixed and painted by the end of the summer. Anyone got a TC front end cheap?? Later guys.

I doubt you have much damage if even the headlights are ok.  Glad to hear all is still sort-of well.  I never thought of the skinnies being a danger in that way.

That sucks man.  Did it tweak the fenders?  You can't call that your fault man.  It was the tires:)

dont call it bad, call it an opportunity
It's Gumby's fault.

Yeah!  Shawn has the right idea.  Like the rear end in my '85 going out was just giving me an opportunity to install an 8.8  :D

I really dont think that the fenders are hurt, I think very minor realignment if anything. I realize that this is opportunity, its just that with me going to Atlanta for the new job next month, I wont have much time to get the car fixed. The bright side however is that I will have the money  :D . There are still a couple things that I want to do to the car and luckily the front end/paint was some of them lol. Im gonna look around locally for a TC front end tomorrow. Later guys.

On a side note, I did spank the hell out of the eclipse and put a nose on the SS on the motor so all isnt lost .  ;)
