Nightshades question......

Can it be applied to the inside of the lenses instead of the outside with the same results?

well... i honestly havnt tried it on the inside of a lense. but my thought on it is.  you would get the shading.  yet still retain the outside look per say.

I don't see why not. Give it a shot (so to speak).

I've removed Niteshades using Prep-All followed by rubbing alcohol, so if it's not the look you want, you can remove it and try the outside.

Yes it can-I have it that way on my car. Gives it a more glossy look-better than doing it from the outside. When I first did my set I put too much on and the brake lights didn't show well in the sunlight. It doesn't take a lot to make them look dark- try a coat or two then put them together to see how they look.

It's been my experience that when you paint a red lens dark on the backside it significantly darkens the lens. With the 87-88 outer lenses being clear to begin with, it will certainly appear dark if applied to the inside.

However, I love the 87-88 taillamps just as they are with the three circles and potential for sequential turn signal action. I cannot do this with the 1984 because of the two bulb only design. I do enjoy sequential action on my Mustang!

That's what I was hoping for.I'm not sure I'm going to use it or not, just getting some info.I do like the way the stock lights look when they are restored as i did mine.Natural good looks.

Mine were absolutely perfect before I did niteshades.  I wanted to make sure that It went on well, so i did sanding before i sprayed, and I also sanded the "color" coat, and also sanded the clear after I put it on.  I threw a LOT of clear at it.  The problem with painting the inside of the clear cover is that the flat black painted parts that are on the OEM lenses still show, and don't look right when its done.  I opted to do the entire outside so it was a uniform black all over... it made it look a lot cleaner.
