I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Couldn't you just pop the old lock cylinder out and put a new one in? It's only like 15 bucks:D

I thought there was a pin in the bottom of the column, push that in with a punch, and kinda pry it out with a screwdriver. Thats what I did with mine.

You can only pop the lock out with the pin if you have the keys, IIRC. You have to put the key in, turn it, then the pin will move.

Or if you are very creative. I had to do this before. No big problem at all and it didn't look like that.  What you guys need to do is find the right way to get the ignition lock out of there without the keys. I'm sure your guys can find it. I found it 10yrs ago with out the GOOD OLE NET! All else I can add is why break it if you don't have to?

P.s And look what you could have found with a search. http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=10206 Then you wouldn't have to change that column.
