2.3l falls bogs when hitting boost

Hello, im new to the forum. I am pretty mechanically inclined but i cannot for the life of me figure out why my 1988 turbocoupe falls flat on its face the very moment it hits boost around 4k rpms. there are no obsrtuctions in the air tubing, basically every electrical ignition component (accept the ecu) have been replaced. i bought the vehicle with this problem and it continues to plague me. any help on my next direction? Thanks!

Is the corregated hose on the turbo inlet collapsing (sucking it self closed) under load?

They normally have a reinforcing wire in them.

that would be difficult to test, its a 5speed. i will try but i really dont think that is the cause. thank you for the speedy response!

Have you verified the fuel pressure??? It's the #1 cause for TCs "laying down" under boost...

Just take a look at it.  If you can grab it and close it easily with your hand, and it doesn't feel like there's the support wire in there, then it needs to be addressed.

It's a very common thing.

well to my suprise i found the problem, of course looking me right in the face the coupling that joins the intercooler to the tb was not seated properly. i had to adjust the bracket to the intercooler, reattatch them together and wow what a difference. all i had to do was open my eyes! the previous owner has put over 1k worth of labor and parts into the vehicle to try and figure this out! should i call him and tell him what the problem was?
THANKS AGAIN for the suggestions to repair my issue, i probably wouldnt have noticed it this soon if i didnt check the hoses!

I wouldn't bother, it would just be rubbing it in his face.. his loss is your gain.
