found an 87 bird by my house for sale

Was riding around tonight and on the way home we spotted a white thunderbird on the side of the road for sale. Wasn't there when we left to go grab some food. So I pulled a u-turn to go back and check it out. Its an 87 model and has 8 holes on it, really nice gray interior, digital dash, column shifter. At this point I figure its a V6 but it was in pretty good shape so I took down the number. Its not far from my house at all but I have never seen it on the road. Its missing the molding on the drivers side fender. The one around the marker light. The car is in pretty good shape! I noticed it has square door locks on it and the drivers side has a keypad for an alarm. Why are the door locks different? Mine are round. Hopefully tommorrow I will get some pics and a price.

Square locks are lighted. Came with a light package that included cornering lights in the front fenders ahead of the wheels.
88 TC 5speed, 168000+ miles, stock 2.3T long block, ported RFE6 exhaust, Evergreen T3 running 15#'s.
Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

The code is for unlocking the door. I heard you can also open the trunk with it. I am not sure on that though. You can unlock only the drivers door, or only the passenger or both I think...

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

once you punch the code in the dr side unlocks, then if you press the 3/4 (2nd button) it unlocks the pass side, then/or if you press the 5/6 (3rd button) it pops the trunk.

Not sure if the lighting package chanced for 87-8 but in 86 it did not include the cornering lights.

If the trim around the windows is chrome, it's most likely a 3.8 car, and if it's black, it most likely will be a 5.0 (or TC, but we can easily i.d. those..)

pics, dammit!! ;)

I know its a 6 cylinder car. I talked to the owner and he wants $700 for it but when I saw it first it was dark so it did look really good but the front fenders both have damage but other than that the body is straight and the interior is in great shape!

that dosen't look bad at all. The car overall looks very similar to my 87 5.0.

yes, I know you did and that was really nice to do.  I was hopeful that an interior shot woud make it in and perhaps if it be verified that it runs.
You didnt have to do what you did  , its appreciated for sure.
