Meguiars Headlight Restoration Kit $18 (I got good results)

Here is the results from the Meguiars Resto kit....
The passenger side light has a brown line in the bottom of the lense from where water sat in it for so long. I'm happy with the lights though, not bad for $18. They look better in person and they are SOOOO much brighter I can see the road again! lol

I dont remember what it went for but the 5 Minute Optical Polish thing at Wal-Mart has worked really well for me on several headlights that werent destroyed but just rather fogged and worn. Ive gotten several parking/corner lights off ebay and CL and stuff very very cheap because they really did look like garbage but using that polisher wheel a few times made em pretty freakin good. Long as the "hardcoat" isnt completely worn off the plastic base I think theyre still good to go once you wear down the py stuff.

Yeah it took some muscle but I got it done in about an hour, thats including removing the lights and putting them back. Drill started to die on me so I quit for the day. I think I will try some more tomorrow on the bird then Im going to do the ones in my mustang to see what they turn out like because they are alot worse than the bird was.

Looks like they turned out pretty good. I should try the stuff on my 95 T-bird's headlights as they are pretty nasty.

I wet sanded all my lenses with 1200 grit sandpaper. I even did my rear lenses and what a difference it made. Then I buffed them with rubbing compound. Awesome results

Keep them well waxed as they should yellow faster than when they were new. Nothing some rubbing compound every car wash can't fix though!

My biggest issue with the stock lights, even after being cleaned up, was the condition of the reflector. There was nothing I could do to bring them up the same level level as stock replacements. This made as much difference as going from hazed to clear lenses. Add relays to get 14+v at the bulbs and you get even more light output. The headlights still sucked after doing all that though. Foglights helped a bit but do absolutely nothing after the retrofitted HID projectors. Now my foglights are just around for the ride, never powered on. They drag down my alternator (55w/4.5A each) a lot compared to the 35w/3A d2s bulbs.
