1987 Yamaha Virago 750cc *Extra Clean!*

Listing for a friend, His grandpa gave him the bike when he got his new one. He dont ride it and it just sits so today he decided to let it go.

It runs great! We cranked it up today and rode it around the block. Has some power for a 750. The bike is also shaft driven, no belt or chain. Good sporty lookin cruiser style bike. Cleanest 87' I have ever seen. Never been down, always garage kept, cleaned after every ride, and serviced by Yamaha on a regular basis. It is like a dark maroon color with black frame and Lots of CHROME! Dont look bad really! Has 13k original miles

Extra's:
Bug sheild
Sissy bar on the back
Some kinda aftermarket seat (i think)
Chrome mirrors

What he wants:
Supercharger for 86 IROC camaro (top mount)
Some kinda daily driver car/truck
All trades considered
He has a 88 GT Mustang so maybe some parts for that, alum heads, etc

Or he said he will take $2500 for it cash
Hillsborough NC

Call my cell if you want to look at it (I can take you to it)

My dad has a 82 or 984 virago. I can't remember the year. Very solid bikes. Those bikes will spin the tire before they'll pop a wheelie. I raced a Z06 corvette while I was riding my dad's way back in the day. I creamed him through 60. I didn't even know I was racing till I seen all his tire smoke in my mirror. Fairly fast bike for a road bike. My dad's 750 would do 60 in around 3.5 seconds or so. Way to much power for a 16 year old kid, and definately not the first bike you should learn on. All sorts of fun though.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

What part of Carolina is it in? I'm in Yorktown at the moment and will be headed back to FL on Thursday. I'd like to stop and take a look but not sure I have time. I've also got a friend on the Outer Banks....

Actually I was planning on going home 85... and I just saw where it says Hillsborough (duh). Would calling you when I get nearby on Thursday be ok? I'm not on a firm schedule but it would be late afternoon most likely. I don't have a helment or an up to date license so I'll just want to look and hear it run, shouldn't take long.

Yeah, that looks like what I'm looking for... wish I'd had time to stop yesterday. :(  I'm not going to have time to come back up any time soon though so it's for the best I guess.

I totally missed this and just re read it. If you can get it to wheelie, you have alot bigger balls then I. One of the first times I road my dads bike I tried to do a burn out because we were getting a new rear tire the next day. Stood as far forward as I could, reved it to 7k  while holding the front brake and dumped it. I was going 25 mph before the spinning rear tire grabbed and launched me into a wheelie.  I wasn't able to turn it fast enough and dumped it and slammed it into a dumpster. I figure I was going at least 40 mph. After it popped up, I had to hold onto the throttle to try and stop myself from falling off, and didn't even have enough time to hit the brakes.

750lbs is alot heavier with a hurt knee and spraineed ankle.
