Anyone ever install an electrical fan

I want to install a cooling fan in the car. It has a 5.0 engine. My question is which one is the best to use and how easy is it to install?

I used a fan from a late 90's Taurus. These are relatively thin and pull a lot of air. You can find them on E-Bay or in the J/Y for about $50.

Easy install on the fan itself. Two 5/16 bolts at the top of the radiator and I pushed two wire ties through the radiator to secure the bottom.

Wiring: I ordered a Painless Wiring fan relay kit and thermistor to cycle the fan on and off. I mounted it in the thermostat housing. I used the OEM wire connector on the main power for a cleaner install.

I did not set it up on a manual switch. I have done that in the past on other cars. It resulted in occational overheats due to either forgetting to turn it on or inadvertantly swiching it off...

The thermistor can be mounted in the temp sensor hole or in the thermostat housing. A heads up on mounting in the t/stat housing: I was not able to mount the thermistor in thermostat housing "port" (the hex headed plug) because the sensor hit the thermostat itself. I had to drill a hole farther back on the housing and tap it for the sensor.

Well the fan is installed. It was an easy cheap upgrade. The fan cost 35 bones from the B/Y the wire harness was 64 (Painless) and that was painful to purchase but what the hell) and about 3 hours of work. I will post pictures later. In case your wondering the electric fan came from a 93 Taurus.
