CHMSL Attachment

I am looking to get confirmation of the attachment of the CHMSL (aka Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp, High-Stop, Third Brake Light..) Assembly in the Package Shelf (aka Package Tray). I just installed a '86 Package Shelf and CHMSL Assembly in my '85 and it seems like I may be missing some attachment. The CHMSL Assembly has two plastic hooks which pickup slots in the Shelf. With these and just being wedged between the glass and the Shelf, is this all that holds these in place? What am I missing?

Thanks for your help,

Cooter

On 1986-88 package trays there was a cutout in the metal, with two metal tabs that stuck up. Those tabs correlate with the holes on the side of the CHMSL assembly. I would think that's all you're missing. It's possible to create a bracket for that, I'm sure, and bolt that down onto your existing package tray.

Thanks Eric.  I have to punch a hole for the light cable, and I'll be sure to punch two slots/tabs or make attachments for a bracket while I am in there...
thanks again,
