AOD shifting problem

I just took my 88 tbird 5.0L out for its first cruise after a long winter sleep with little movement.

The transmission is shifting all messed up, under hard throttle it shifts into second fine, but gets confused when to shift to 3rd?? i would accelarate hard to 50mph, half the time it would level off at 1800rpm the other half the time it would rev at 2500 rpm at 50mph.

When i accelarate slowly it revs to 3000+ then shifts hard to second and again gets confused on third.

Should i be checking the TV cable?

The car has been sitting for 4 months or so.
Thanks
Jeff

Any time an AOD is shifting funny, check the TV cable. Make sure it's still attached at the throttle body and that it's moving freely at both ends (Throttle body and the linkage on the tranny)

Check the T/V cable as mentioned above and check the fluid level.

I just took a look at my car, when i pulled the TV cable it just stuck in the open position, with a quick WD40 of the likages down by the tranny, it looks as though its all good now.
